Dear Marlboro Township Resident,
This notice is to advise you of our Township Ordinance on Pet Waste removal, also known as “Curbing your dog”. This ordinance requires all pet owners to immediately and properly dispose of any solid waste left behind by their pets when they are off their own property. Marlboro Township Ordinance for Pet Waste Removal
§ 94-24 Requirement for disposal.
All owners and keepers are required to immediately and properly dispose of their pet's solid waste deposited on any property, public or private, not owned or possessed by that person.
§ 94-27 Violations and penalties.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall be subject to a minimum fine of not less than $50 for each and every violation and a maximum fine as provided in § 4-3 of the Code.
§ 4-3 General penalties.
Whenever under the Administrative Code or any other ordinance of the Township, or any rule, regulation or order, duly promulgated by any officer or agency of the Township by authority of law, any act or forbearance is prohibited or declared to be unlawful or an offense or the doing of any act is required, and no specific penalty is provided with respect thereto, the violation of any such provisions of the ordinance, rule, regulation or order shall be punishable by one or more of the following: imprisonment in the county jail or in any place provided by the Township for the detention of prisoners for any term not exceeding 90 days or by a fine not exceeding $2,000 or a period of community service not to exceed 90 days. In case of a continuing violation, each day of the violation shall constitute a separate offense. In the case of a fine imposed upon a corporation, the fine and costs may be collected in a civil action in such manner as may be prescribed by law.
